It’s been a two-year journey to create our Papercoat product. We’ve looked at and tested everything! We started with the idea of a digital solution but couldn’t find anything which could be powered long enough or could withstand the harshest of outdoor conditions- UV, Rain and Wind. There were printers and products like coroplast too. But nothing worked…Until we finally came up with our special proprietary coating. This coating allows us to create pre-laminate signage which you can use straight out of your printer.
But why Papercoat? The idea for Papercoat came out of the pain of laminating paper. We’ve all experienced the pain of bulk lamination. It’s such a laborious task and worst of all it, it requires your full attention. There’s just no way around it. You need to;
- Wait for the laminator to warm up
- Put the paper in the plastic sheet
- Feed the paper through the laminator
Laminating paper is just so frustrating because if you take your eye off the ball you add more time to the task. If you try and multi-task your often not efficient in feeding the paper through, thus, leaving the laminator on and not working. If you walk away, the laminator may have finished or be blocked, again adding the time to the project.
Laminating just sucks! Even an automatic laminator isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The plastic sheets to refill the machine are expensive but worst of all, the feeder often gets blocked. If you’re not around to unblock the laminator, the machine just stops…More time and money!
We’re yet to mention the pain of skin burns from the lamination machines! All of these issues we’re too much for us to handle at Papercoat. We had to do something. Which is why we never gave up in creating Papercoat. Two years later, we’re proud to release our product. As side from saving time, Papercoat is also eco-friendly and best of all it saves you from laminating! That’s right, never turning on the laminator will save your day and make you more efficient at work.
